The house is down a half mile tree-lined drive and is surrounded by water meadows, a river, permanent pasture, copses and arable farmland that is managed by the owner’s brother.  There are unspoilt views from the house in all directions. 

We run the bed and breakfast as part of our family home.  James works from home making furniture (www.organicfurniture.co.uk).  We are featured in the Alastair Sawday British B&B Guide.

Accommodation
The bed and breakfast accommodation is in the Georgian part of the house, with a private entrance leading to a stone-flagged hall. 

We have two double rooms, both with uninterrupted views of the countryside. One has a four poster bed and en-suite bathroom, with a rolltop bath and separate shower. The second room has a large double bed which may be separated into twin beds. The private bathroom is just across the landing with a bath and shower. Bath robes are provided!

Both rooms have ample space for one (or possibly two) put up beds to accommodate children. We can also provide a travel cot.

The dining room has a large oak dining table, with a sofa to relax on next to a woodburning stove. We have a separate sitting room for guests' use, also with a woodburner, and a daybed and armchairs.

Food
We can recommend local pubs and restaurants for meals.  Though we do not generally cater for evening meals we may able to provide a home cooked supper on request.  Please enquire when booking. We use local produce whenever possible as well as fruit and vegetables from our walled garden, and eggs from our own hens. 

Prices
The rate for either bedroom per night is £80, based on two people sharing.

Approaching from the South and East: 
A342 towards Devizes, two miles after the Charlton Cat public house turn right towards Marden, through the village and over two small bridges.  Having left the village the turning to our drive is approximately 300 metres on the right.  Continue down drive to the house.  From Devizes turn left off the A342 towards Marden and continue as above.

Approaching from Marlborough:
Head for Woodborough and then Beechingstoke.  Do not go into Beechingstoke but turn left towards Marden.  We are half way between Beechingstoke and Marden.
